Use Caution Around Construction Sites

Recently an employee was walking down the sidewalk of Alvarez road by Building 51, opposite the Bay View parking lot, when a nail penetrated the bottom of the employee's shoe, puncturing the foot. The employee went to health services for treatment and received a tetanus shot. The project manager of the site was notified, and a reminder was sent to all project managers to discuss the incident with the contractors to remind them to use caution when transporting materials around the site. The incident serves as a reminder that it’s always important to use caution when walking around the laboratory, particularly with so many construction projects taking place on the hill.
